I was working on my content calendar last night a5 Steps to Manage Holiday Stress and Anxiety
I recently came across some content about how stressful the holiday season can be for moms. Inspired by this, I decided to share my foolproof 5-step plan for managing anxiety and stress. These steps have consistently worked for me, and I hope they can help you too.
Step 1: Declutter Your Phone Limit your screen time and delete apps that no longer serve a purpose. Even though my work revolves around social media, I sometimes delete social media apps if they distract me from being productive. Regularly removing unproductive apps can help you stay focused.
Step 2: Meditate I wasn’t always a fan of meditation, but it has become a crucial part of my routine. It can be challenging to find time, especially with kids at home or when they’re sick, but just a few minutes of focused breathing can work wonders for your mental health. Find a quiet spot (even a closet will do) and breathe deeply. Here are some YouTube channels I use:
Step 3: Avoid Overwhelming Your Schedule Don’t overcommit to holiday parties and events. Overscheduling can take a toll on your mental health. Prioritize your well-being and give yourself the space to relax and enjoy the season.
Step 4: Create a Calming Environment Use a diffuser or scented candles to create a calming atmosphere. I recently discovered Saje diffusers and their stress relief calming drops, which have been game changers for my family and me.
Step 5: Exercise Daily Incorporate short bursts of exercise into your day. Just 5-10 minutes of stretching when you wake up and 3-5 minutes before bed can make a difference. Stay active throughout the day by doing household chores like cleaning countertops or doing laundry. The key is to keep moving and avoid prolonged periods of inactivity.
By following these steps, you can manage holiday stress and enjoy a more peaceful and joyful season.
